PUBLIC STATEMENT - Pittsburg Police Officers’ Association September 5, 2026
We are especially grateful to our officers and our city staff who immediately stepped up, offering whatever support our department needed during an incredibly difficult incident. Your concern, compassion, and willingness to help have meant a great deal to our entire law enforcement family.
We also want to thank our law enforcement partners throughout the Bay Area. The overwhelming response from outside agencies offering assistance and support was a powerful reminder of the strong relationships that exist within the law enforcement community. We are deeply appreciative of every agency and every individual who reached out to assist us in our time of need.
Most importantly, we want to thank the members of our community. The calls, messages, prayers, support on social media, and expressions of concern for our officers have not gone unnoticed. During difficult moments, knowing that our community stands behind the men and women who serve and protect it provides tremendous strength and encouragement.
Our officers demonstrated tremendous courage during this incident, and our focus remains on supporting them and their families as they recover. We ask that everyone continue to keep them in their thoughts and wish them a full and speedy recovery.
The Pittsburg Police Officers’ Association is proud of the way our department, our city, our law enforcement partners, and our community came together when it mattered most.
A stark reminder of the dangers we face in law enforcement everyday.
Respectfully
POA President
