History of the Pittsburg Police Officers Association
The Pittsburg Police Officers Association (PPOA) is rooted in the longstanding history of the City of Pittsburg, which was incorporated in 1903. As the community grew, so did the need for structured public safety services, leading to the establishment of the Pittsburg Police Department in 1925. Decades later, on June 17, 1960, the Pittsburg Police Officers Association was formally created to support the evolving needs of the officers serving the community.
The PPOA was founded with a clear mission: to promote the welfare, professional development, and overall well-being of its members. From the beginning, the Association has worked to ensure fair working conditions, enhance officer safety, and provide essential support to officers and their families.
