
Chief Albanese Swears in newly promoted Sergeant Jonathan Elmore
Congratulations to Sergeant Jonathan Elmore on His Promotion!
The Pittsburg Police Officers Foundation is pleased to congratulate Sergeant Jonathan Elmore on his recent promotion, officially sworn in on February 5, 2026.
Sergeant Elmore has dedicated over a decade of service to the Pittsburg Police Department, joining in 2013. Over the course of his career, he has excelled in a wide range of roles, including Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer, Robbery/Persons Crimes Detective, Corporal, Field Training Officer, and SWAT Team Operator. Most recently, he served as a Homicide Detective in the Investigations Division.
Beyond his primary duties, Sergeant Elmore is a valued member of several departmental teams, including the Peer Support Team and Training Cadre, and has taken on numerous ancillary responsibilities throughout his career.
Sergeant Elmore’s commitment to professional development is evident through his completion of extensive advanced training in areas such as homicide investigations, drug influence recognition, officer-involved incident investigations, and arrest and control tactics. He is also a multi-time expert witness in Contra Costa and Alameda County Superior Courts.
Throughout his distinguished career, Sergeant Elmore has earned numerous accolades, including the 2021 Pittsburg Police Officer of the Year award, several Meritorious Conduct Awards, and a Lifesaving Award. His dedication to service and the community is an inspiration to all.
